Tourist apartment in Besalú

Welcome to Kel Domènech's luxury apartment located in the heart of Besalú. The tourist apartment offers a unique experience in a privileged location with a great history. It is located in a building that dates from the oldest part of the 12th century, with two dividing walls with the Casa Cornellà cellar (Can Llaudes). These walls are followed by Romanesque and Gothic arch structures, one of which can be seen in the accommodation room. The ground floor of the building is very special, as it preserves a gray stone vault from the 14th century, which is 7 meters wide. This vault had been reused as the front part of the municipal oven in the 16th and 17th centuries, which inspired the name of the street known as c/ Del Forn. The oven was buried and disappeared for many years, until Kel Domènech's great-grandfather rediscovered it and dismantled it around 1925.

Before belonging to the family, the building "the charming apartment" had been owned by the Albi's Baron during the 18th and 19th centuries.

The house has been rebuilt several times from the 1428 earthquake to the 19th century, superimposing centuries and styles one after another. It was Kel Domènech who finally directed and carried out the final eclectic reconstruction in 2004. This fascinating history turns the luxury apartment in Besalú into a unique and special place, steeped in every corner of history and creativity, which has much to offer its guests.
